Climate Change; Adaptation; Sustainable Development
An integrated assessment framework is developed and applied to analyze climate change mitigation and adaptation options in the Austrian agricultural and forestry sectors. Synergies and trade-offs between alternative mitigation and adaptation measures in both sectors are assessed as well as their effects on regional economies and ecosystem services using a broad set of indicators. The integrated assessment framework couples disciplinary data and models towards an interdisciplinary scenario analysis approach to better account for feedbacks between eco- and societal systems as well as direct and indirect effects of climate and land uses policies at regional and national scales.
- 15.12.2011: Development of scenarios, including selection of climate scenarios, climate and energy policies and price developments, completed. The stakeholder input collected in the first stakeholder workshop is integrated into the scenarios.
- 15.2.2012: Selection of eco-system indicators and indicators for the impact of climate change on the regional economy completed
- 2.3.2012: Design of model interfaces completed. The next steps include implementation of scenarios in the various models and coupling of model outputs to be able to perform scenario analysis
